Trading - Trouble Shooting

Why can’t I buy a token?

  • Potential reasons include:

    • The network is busy, and your transaction has expired. You can retry swapping - our system will resubmit with a higher gas.

    • The return amount is not enough. You can retry using a higher slippage setting. The slippage limit is the difference between your expected output and the real output at the time of your swap. The transaction will fail if the real output changes by more than your set slippage. At your own risk, you can adjust the slippage limits.

Why can’t I sell a token?

  • Reasons may include:

    • The network is busy, and your transaction has expired. You can retry swapping - our system will resubmit with a higher gas.

    • The return amount is not enough. You can retry using a higher slippage setting. The slippage limit is the difference between your expected output and the real output at the time of your swap. The transaction will fail if the real output changes by more than your set slippage. At your own risk, you can adjust the slippage limits.

    • Insufficient assets in the DEX pool. Check the “Major Assets in Pool” on the token’s analytics page to verify liquidity availability.

    • The token has become unsellable, also known as a honeypot (trading paused, super high tax, contract code exploited, etc.). We have partnered with Tokensniffer and Honeypot.is to provide token security scans to avoid such situations. However, a token’s sellable status can always change, so always verify before trading.

Why did my transaction fail?

  • In addition to possible reasons mentioned in "Why can’t I buy a token?" and "Why can’t I sell a token?", other possible reasons include:

    • Insufficient Funds: If you do not have enough of your network’s native token to cover the network costs, you will not be able to execute a transaction. Each transaction requires this network cost to execute a transaction. You can purchase more of your network's native token, adjust your swap amount, or wait for the cost to go down.

    • Token Fee (Token Tax): The token you are swapping may have a buy/sell tax in the token’s contract, and the slippage will need to be increased. We work with Tokensniffer and Honeypot.is for information about token tax - you can see them when you hover over a token on Candlestick.

Why can't I spend all my ETH balance on a trade?

  • A small amount of ETH must be reserved to cover the gas fees for your transactions. When you click max ETH on a trade, our system will reserve a small amount of gas for you based on the network condition, and you will be spending the largest possible amount of your ETH balance.
